El Paso airport in Texas, according to the report below, a mechanic was working on an oil leak on the running engine of a Continental Airlines 737. He stood up to retrieve his cap and was immediately sucked into the engine.
The graphic photographs below the report are a grim reminder of the extreme danger posed by running jet engines to ground personnel in their proximity.
Pilots receiving this e mail are requested to circulate it widely to colleagues and the concerned departments in their organisation's administration in the interest of ground safety.
