Adventure Cafe | Skiing The German Alps

The Zugspitze, at 2,962 metres (9,717 feet) above sea level, is the highest peak of the Wetterstein Mountains as well as the highest mountain in Germany. It lies south of the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and the border between Germany and Austria runs over its western summit. At the top of Zugspitze there's something to suit everyone's taste. Experience seven months of guaranteed snow cover and panoramic views extending from German and Austrian Alps far into the white powdered Dolomite mountains of Italy and the Swiss Alps. The mountain station invites you to linger in the rustic summit restaurant, Gipfelalm, and the Panorama-Lounge 2962. You can easily reach the Zugspitze Glacier just 300 meters (984 feet) below the summit in the Glacier cable car.
