Hi,

I got questions about RTOW/ RLW charts.

When an airline wants to operate at a newly built aerodrome, they need to have RTOW and RLW charts for their aircraft.

What data will they require to produce RTOW /RLW charts?

Where would the required data come from?

Who would provide the data?

How would the data be used to produce RTOW/ RLW charts?

Many thanks

1) Aerodrome data like elevation, TORA, ASDA, TODA, clearway, slope, obstacles etc

2) Aircraft performance data (especially single engine) for:
    A) Performance Regulations: Like 2nd segment, approach climb limit, landing climb limit, obstacle clearance margins etc

    B) Performance Limitations: Like structural limits, tire limit, brake limits etc

Aerodrome data from regulatory agencies and aircraft data from aircraft manufacturer

By using environmental data (temperature, pressure, winds etc) and performance charts or computer applications / software provided by the aircraft manufacturer. This can be done manually using charts or through computer. In airlines, this is usually done by performance engineers through computer applications made for this task.

Hope this helps
